Environmental care is a central issue that should be on the agenda of all companies. At San Miguel, we feel this way, and that's why we have been working for many years with a focus on sustainability. This way, we take a commitment to our land and the future.

Following this path, we approached the ProYungas Foundation, a non-profit organization that carries out management activities for the conservation and sustainable development of the Argentine subtropics.

Now, what are the Yungas? They are regions of jungle and Andean forest that extend from Bolivia to northern Argentina. It is one of the ecosystems with the highest biodiversity in our country, and we want to preserve it. That's why we have a protected productive landscape and carry out our activities sustainably, preserving natural resources so that production and nature can coexist harmoniously. This allows us to integrate industrial activity, biodiversity conservation, and associated ecosystem services in a context of social promotion and job creation.

Footprints that leave marks for the future

Some of the actions we are taking include:

Measurement of carbon stock and its variations: The estimated carbon stock is 199 tons of carbon per hectare.

Public dissemination of work through "El visor": This is an interactive online map that allows you to explore the landscape and access relevant data on the flora and fauna that inhabit our Yungas. It is publicly accessible, and information can be downloaded in various formats, including documents, maps, and photographic resources.

Caspinchango Reserve: The company created this reserve in the town of Famaillá, Tucumán province, which encompasses 4,610 hectares of native forests.

PRODUCTOYUNGA Certification: This certification validates the origin and sustainability of products, processes, and services produced by companies or small, medium, and large producers in the Yungas ecoregion.

The incorporation of certifications into the production process involves taking commitments aimed at improving management systems with a focus on sustainability.

This is ongoing and sustained work for the sake of future generations, and we invite all companies to focus on sustainability to sustain their economic activity, considering social and environmental factors and making their management a responsible action with resources.
