For a company to be considered on the road to sustainability, today it must demonstrate that it has management processes that ensure the quality of its products, that it considers the environmental impact of its activities and the social impact on its employees and the community.

While the transition to a resilient and decarbonised economy is already underway and accelerating globally, it is true that much remains to be done. Currently 59 countries - whose aggregate emissions are equivalent to 54% of global Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions - have formalised their goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050. Argentina is among them.

At the business level, awareness and action on environmental issues, both at the societal and business level - whether in SMEs or large companies - has grown by leaps and bounds.

A large number of companies are already working with great commitment on the issue and have signed up to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), but there are others that are still lagging behind. And the time to act is now.

While it is true that in recent years global executives have faced a challenging world that has surprised them with pandemics, geopolitical conflicts, economic uncertainty and supply chain disruptions, among other issues, business leaders continue to uphold the importance of working towards leaving the world a better place.

This conviction and commitment is reflected in the CXO Sustainability Report 2023: Accelerating the Green Transition released by the consulting firm Deloitte, in which more than 2,000 Chief Experience Officers (CXOs) from 24 countries participated.

Of these, 64% said that climate change will have a high/very high impact on their organisation's strategy and operations over the next three years.

In order for a company to be considered on the road to sustainability, it must now demonstrate that it has management processes that ensure the quality of its products, that it considers the environmental impact of its activities and the social impact on its employees and the community.

All of this is framed in good corporate governance practices, making ethics and integrity the way to operate with absolute transparency.

The world is in constant movement and does not stop to wait for us.

This is why it is essential to take action and put environmental care at the top of the agenda of organizations.
